Jumpstart your career with the East Providence Workforce Program. Completely FREE for low-to-moderate income East Providence residents and workers. Coursework is geared towards improving career advancement by cultivating industry-specific, computer, and leadership skills.
The City of East Providence Workforce Training Program offers 11 courses through Roger Williams University鈥檚 Extension School. The career-oriented programming offers training in Microsoft Office, social media marketing, accounting and bookkeeping, project management, and medical office specialist.
Courses in the East Providence Workforce Program will be free to eligible East Providence residents and workers. Participants must be low-to-moderate income (up to 100% AMI), and either live in East Providence OR work in East Providence. Applicants will be vetted for income and residence/workplace requirements through the enrollment process.

Accounting & Bookkeeping Fundamentals (Cohort 2)
Build a strong foundation in accounting and bookkeeping with this 13-week course designed for beginners and career professionals alike. Using College Accounting: A Career Approach (ISBN: 978-1337623131), students will gain practical skills in recording transactions, managing financial records, preparing basic financial statements, and understanding the accounting cycle. Ideal for those pursuing careers in business, finance, or office administration, this course blends real-world applications with essential bookkeeping principles to support success in any industry.

Advanced Accounting & Bookkeeping with QuickBooks (Cohort 3)
Take your accounting skills to the next level in this 13-week advanced course designed for individuals with prior experience in accounting and bookkeeping. Using an accounting simulation alongside QuickBooks 2025, students will deepen their understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, payroll systems, and computerized accounting. This course emphasizes real-world application, including hands-on QuickBooks training to prepare students for professional roles in finance, small business management, and accounting services.

This 15-hour self-paced course provides a concise yet comprehensive introduction to social media marketing.
